Hello Linda, I´m just reading The Star Machine, a book by JJeanine Basinger, which has a full long chapter about DD. My question is the extraordinary secrecy with which DD protected her personal life. For me seems incredible that after about one year of marriage with Vaughn Paul, he leaved for the Navy in 1942 , they divorced in 43, and the new husband in 1945 that DD has no other boyfriend, specially in the Hollywood world, an obsviously promiscuous place. The same when Felix Jackson leaved her in 1946 and she married again in 1950, four years alone? It is too much time for shuch lovely lady to stay alone, others stars of the same age like Judy Garland and Elisabeth Tayler had a lot of men at that same time. What you think?
Well, it would be interesting to know if Deanna has descendents, grandsons or granddaughters, I know she had a daughter by Felix Jackson and a son by Charles David, they must have now around 60 years, what happened to them ?
Another comment, I just bougjt a new book THE STAR MACHINE, by Jeanine Basinger that has a full and long chapter about Deanna, with a lot of information.
Yes Deanna is still alive at 88 years and was living in france all these years but recent rumors indicate she may be elsewhere. I do not know for sure. To me she will always be 21 years old and the love of my life. I love to watch her movies over and over again each night. I play "His Butler's Sister" most every night as that is my favorite. I think she looked the prettiest then and I loved her singing in that movie.
